Martha Stewart: No more Fur

Martha Stewart: I take back everything I ever said against you. I salute any celebrity who takes a stand in show of solidarity with PETA to eliminate the suffering of animals.

Remember: humans abusing animals also abuse themselves.

Please make informed consumer decisions. Please reflect on ways you can minimize the impact of suffering on people and animals by making informed decisions.

Martha Stewart narrates this short clip detailing the inhuman horrors of the global fur industries.

  • PT-141 is a new medication for use in treating sexual dysfunction in men (erectile dysfunction or impotence) as well as sexual dysfunction in women (sexual arousal disorder). It seems to be the first real aphrodisiac. Unlike Viagra and other related medications, it does not act upon the vascular system, but directly increases sexual desire. PT-141 is a spray introduced nasally.

    Originally, the compound Melanotan II that PT-141 was developed from was tested as a sunless tanning agent. Melanotan II did induce tanning, accompanied by sexual arousal and spontaneous erections for male volunteers as unexpected side effects. In clinical studies, PT-141 has been shown to be effective in treating male erectile dysfunction and female sexual dysfunction. It is produced by Palatin Technologies.

    PT-141 is a cyclic hepta-peptide lactam analog of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH) that activates the melanocortin receptors MC3-R and MC4-R in the central nervous system. It has the amino acid sequence Ac-Nle-cyclo[Asp-His-D-Phe-Arg-Trp-Lys]-OH or cyclo-[Nle4, Asp5, D-Phe7, Lys10]alpha-MSH-(4-10). PT-141 is a metabolite of Melanotan II that lacks the C-terminal amide function.

  • The munition uses 300 lb (136kg) of a two-stage reactive and pelletised mix of "titanium boron lithium perchlorate intermetallic high-temperature fill" that burns at 1,000ºF for a long time and with low overpressure so any remnants are not ejected from the facility. As a by-product of the HTI reaction, 35 lb (15.8kg) of disinfecting monatomic chlorine and monatomic fluorine gas, along with hydrochloric and hydrofluoric acid, will be left to destroy any remaining BW agents.

  • FPI has been providing the highest quality service offerings for the Department of Defense and has earned the trust of the American Defense establishment. Today, American military vehicles with FPI remanufactured components are performing missions around the world. FPI remanufactured generator sets are on air bases, and rebuilt forklifts are loading weapons and equipment onto our nation's naval fleets. FPI has the capacity and ability to handle any mission.

    FPI rebuilds most common starters, alternators, generators and regulators used on military trucks, tanks and other military vehicles.

    FPI has established equipment receiving and distribution sites around the world enabling Military groups and the Department of Defense to drop off damaged vehicle components and pick-up like items that can be placed into immediate operation. Unserviceable equipment is sent to FPI facilities for remanufacture and returned to a distribution pool at each site creating a steady stream of components ready for service.

    FPI's web-based tracking system enables military groups to monitor equipment status, including warranty dates and claim information.

    The image “http://www.fas.org/rlg/photo.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

    Richard Garwin works in the field of nuclear weapons design, construction, and testing. He is an advocate for reducing the nuclear weapons stockpile of the United States to 1000 weapons. The US currently maintains about 15,000 nuclear warheads. He has been interviewed on NPR where his candor was very candid.

    qouted from the Garwin Archives, http://www.fas.org/rlg/16140840.htm

    "And it would be a folly, you notice the word folly, to defend against the nuclear-armed ballistic missile from so-called rogue nations. Again it would be much easier for them, and more reliable if they do not have a much bigger force, if they would use these other delivery means. And so it is totally unbalanced. There is a very careful choreography on the Republican side of how they present this, this threat and a make-believe, without this, create this total vacuum of the discussion of the other threats. And the fact that this is a dangerous world. And the first thing that one should do is, first understand that any nation that uses nuclear weapons against any other nation is going to be wiped out. At least if it uses (nuclear weapons) against nuclear powers. But if it uses them against non-nuclear powers it is going to have terrible problems as a result. Because of the response."

    Missile Threat

    From the website:

    "America’s complete vulnerability to ballistic missile attack increases with the proliferation of ballistic missile technology throughout the globe. “The Threat” outlines the danger posed by particular countries."

    " The greatest strategic threat to the United States is an attack by one or more ballistic missiles armed with nuclear or other weapons of mass destruction. Today, the United States remains completely vulnerable to this form of attack.

    Missilethreat.com is dedicated to explaining this threat, and the urgent need for robust and layered missile defenses. Systems based on land, sea, air, and in space which are capable of intercepting a missile during any phase of its flight are necessary to provide for the common defense. "

  • I can think of no more worthwhile cause than the fight to win William his freedom. He has been unjustly tried by a penal system that violates its own rules in the name of control. William Pickard is a kind, decent, brave, intelligent human being who has been placed in a situation that is totally beyond the scope of any alleged crime he could have commited. He is an example of the lengths to which the United States will go to deny its best citizens their freedom.

    The pebble bed reactor...

  • MIT PEBBLE BED SITE

  • Project Objective

    Develop a sufficient technical and economic basis for this type of reactor plant to determine whether it can compete with natural gas and still meet safety, proliferation resistance and waste disposal concerns.

    What is a Pebble Bed Reactor?

    * 360,000 pebbles in core;
    * about 3,000 pebbles handled by FHS each day;
    * about 350 discarded daily;
    * one pebble discharged every 30 seconds;
    * average pebble cycles through core 15 times;
    * Fuel handling most maintenance-intensive part of plant.

    Project Prospect

    Many believe that HTGRs are not credible due to past failures. Our work is meant to turn that belief around with substantive analysis. If successful, propose building a reactor research facility to 鬼license by test贡, explore different fuel cycles, process heat applications, and advanced control system design, helium gas turbines and other components. Prepare the regiment for fording...

    Wikipedia has this image on their website of a T-64 Tank. The T-64 would have been a competant weapon against Nato forces of the period. THe T-64 combined all those progressive and daring elements of Soviet armor engineering. It had a powerful, smoothbore cannon, improved suspension from the t-62 series using live track, auto-loader which was very fast, and advanced armor (layers and cermiamic as opposed to rolled homogenous slabs of uniform steel). Also the tank had excellent NBC provisions, which for the warsaw pact armor meant that the tank could be fully sealed.

    The river fording operations were very dangerous, and proabably seldom practiced. Tanks would line up together with each attached by towing lines. A lead tank would ford followed in turn by each tank in the regiment. The flotation of a tank was a difficult matter to estimate, and a stalled vehicle could be difficult to escape should something go wrong. I don't think SCUBA systems were ever employed, but the russians probably accepted that tanks could not be safley evacuated under water under any conditions. So what's a Soviet tanker to do? Well, ideally you stayed "buttoned up" in the vehicle and ride under the water until you safley come out on dry land. I can imagine the tension that such crews must have felt, and while I have no source for numbers, I suspect such operations were rare indeed. Wheter such tactics would have been used in war time is another matter.

    NSC 68

    NSC 68: United States Objectives and Programs for National Security

    III. Fundamental Design of the Kremlin

    The fundamental design of those who control the Soviet Union and the international communist movement is to retain and solidify their absolute power, first in the Soviet Union and second in the areas now under their control. In the minds of the Soviet leaders, however, achievement of this design requires the dynamic extension of their authority and the ultimate elimination of any effective opposition to their authority.

    The design, therefore, calls for the complete subversion or forcible destruction of the machinery of government and structure of society in the countries of the non-Soviet world and their replacement by an apparatus and structure subservient to and controlled from the Kremlin. To that end Soviet efforts are now directed toward the domination of the Eurasian land mass. The United States, as the principal center of power in the non-Soviet world and the bulwark of opposition to Soviet expansion, is the principal enemy whose integrity and vitality must be subverted or destroyed by one means or another if the Kremlin is to achieve its fundamental design.
